Getting an Extra Care Card at CVS

Published by hsmom under CVS Edit This

Many people still do not realize how much you can save by shopping at CVS.  At the center of this savings is the CVS Extra Care Card.  It sometimes works as a coupon and other times it works sorta like an instant rebate.   As a coupon, basically, you get a better price on certain items if you use the Extra Care Card.  It works sorta like an instant rebate by giving money towards your next shopping trip on certain items.  The real savings come in when you combine the Extra Care Card with other manufacturer coupons or combine the “rebates” that you got with the last shopping trip, items that you get a discount on because of using the card and manufacturer’s coupons.  Many a shopper has taken home free product using this method.

The Value of Playing the CVS Game

Published by hsmom under CVS Edit This

Thursday, August 7th 2008, I went shopping at CVS and got several items, 4 tubes of tooth paste, a tooth brush, 2 cans of Pringles, 4 skin care products, and a deodorant. Before I left, Hubby said “Please don’t spent to much”. He’s really getting uptight about our money situation. When I came home I said “I made $2.00 shopping, is that too much????” lol!!!! He had to have me repeat the story several times and still had trouble believing it. Basically, between sales, coupons, ECB’s and gift cards (from transferred prescriptions) the first transaction I paid about $2.50 out of pocket. The I noticed I was a little short for getting a $5.00 ECB for some skincare and needed to buy 1 more product. So I asked the manager to watch my stuff and went back and got another product. Well, I used a $4.00 ECB that I just received for that product so it cost me about $.50 out of pocket. The ECB still did not print. The manager noticed I was just $.03 short so he said he would give me the $5.00 in CASH. So I ended up +$2.00 and I also have another $3.00 ECB to spend the next time I go in there!!!! Every little bit helps!!!!
